WTA provided design for renovation and additions on the St. Louis College of Pharmacy campus involving the renovation of a 100,000 sq.ft. classroom building into a laboratory, a classroom and administrative facility, an 8-story, 100,000 sq.ft. dormitory and cafeteria constructed on an adjacent site, a 150 car parking lot addition, and air-conditioning of the existing gymnasium. Project features include:

  • A new central plant consisting of two 6,000 MBH natural-gas fired hot water boilers, two 400-ton electric centrifugal water chillers, and a new 4,000 amp utility service for the entire complex
  • Hot and chilled water distributed by variable frequency pumping system
  • Laboratory control systems feature variable air volume hoods, incorporating Phoenix controls and tracking boxes as appropriate
  • Air side economizers provide for free cooling throughout the winter
