WTA provided MEPF engineering design, commissioning and LEED™ management for the new 150,000 sq.ft. Earth and Planetary Science Building located on the Washington University Hilltop campus. The new building houses research laboratories, faculty and graduate student offices, classrooms, department library, and departmental offices. The laboratories are a mix of wet chemistry labs, clean labs, and dry labs. Project features include:

  • The building system uses 40% less energy than earlier lab builidngs on the campus
  • Plumbing systems are designed for 30% water savings
  • Clean workstations have achieved Class 10 rating
  • Classrooms and offices are on occupancy sensors for energy conservation
EPS was the first Version 2.1 LEED™ Certified building in the St. Louis area.
